We loved the original Armageddon so much, we just cooked up another batch before the end of the UK chilli growing season. Still using the 1.3 million SHU, second hottest chilli in the world – the Armageddon chilli, we’ve tweaked the recipe slightly, so we weren’t simply repeating the last one.
So, what did we do differently? First of all, we added a bit more sweetness to balance out the sheer power of the chilli using agave instead of banana. We also added a big chunk of ginger. We also added a touch more garlic, but it doesn’t taste like a garlicky sauce. Finally, we put some big sticks of cinnamon in the mix (but took them out before blending).
This might just be our new favourite! Only 26 bottles will ever be made, so get in quickly if you want some.
It goes without saying that this sauce should be used strictly in moderation.
Ingredients: Water, armageddon chilli, apple cider vinegar, onion, ginger, garlic, bay leaf, paprika, star anise, salt, pepper, stabiliser (xanthan gum).
